"The Flash" Examining the Viral Disaster of the Worst Scene in the Movie

In recent news, a scene from the movie "The Flash" has gained significant attention, rapidly spreading across the internet. Despite my belief that "The Flash" does not deserve its place among the biggest cinematic failures, with projections suggesting a staggering $200 million loss, it seems destined to fall behind films like "Black Adam" or even "Green Lantern" in terms of lifetime box office revenue. Unfortunately, the film's attempt to boast about being the first to release as an NFT on the blockchain only adds to its disheartening state.

While I generally enjoyed most of the film, I cannot deny that the finale (spoilers ahead), filled with DC "multiverse" cameos for the sake of having them, stands as one of the most appalling scenes I have witnessed in a superhero movie. Now, with the movie available on the blockchain, this scene is rapidly going viral, captivating viewers with its sheer awfulness. There are several issues at play here:

1) The choice of characters revolves around individuals unfamiliar to the younger audience of the DCEU Flash. How many viewers truly grasp the joke about the aborted Superman movie featuring Nicolas Cage?

2) The majority of the selected actors, such as Christopher Reeve, George Reeves, and Adam West, are deceased, resurrected for this abomination that comes across as more exploitative than a genuine tribute.

3) The CGI employed in this scene is downright terrible.

What's even more disheartening is that countless other cameo options were available, had the creators desired to include them at all, though I suspect the meta nature of cameos might not work effectively. The CW's Flash series, for instance, accomplished this with its own take on Flashpoint, incorporating more relevant cameos and even featuring a brief appearance by Ezra Miller's Flash. In contrast, the chosen cameos in "The Flash" predominantly consist of poorly rendered CGI monstrosities. Numerous more suitable alternatives existed, featuring the entire cast of DC's CW universe, "Smallville," "Doom Patrol," "Superman and Lois," "Titans," "The Batman," "The Dark Knight Trilogy," "Green Lantern," "Superman Returns," and "Watchmen." These options involved living actors who could have willingly participated in cameos or didn't require shoddy CGI recreation.

Undoubtedly, there may have been other options considered but ultimately excluded from the list. Nonetheless, the decision to rely heavily on 40-60-year-old characters played by deceased actors was a glaring misstep. If this was the best they could come up with, the entire concept should have been discarded.

To be clear, I find the remainder of the movie to be quite satisfactory, even commendable. However, this particular scene falls far short of expectations, warranting severe criticism.
